A baking tray 13 1/4 inch x 9 1/4 inch x 1 1/4 inch was used for this recipe. Double the ingredients to make a bigger cake. You can also use a cake tin, the baking time will increase then to 60 min. Peel and core the apples, cut them in small pieces. It's best to use sourly apples like Braeburne or Fuji. Beat the unsalted butter and the sugar well until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat until frothy. In a separate bowl combine the flour and the baking powder. Sift the flour over the egg-butter mixture. Add the milk and the white wine and beat well. (the dough is a little bit pasty) Add the apple pieces and carefully mix them with the dough. Pre heat the oven to 350 F and bake for 45 min. Let cool on the tray. Before serving dust with confectioner's sugar.
